Reactivation emails are a sort of check-in with email subscribers to see if they would like to be kept on the email list. Working with strategic consultant Tara Mermis (who wrote all of the punny copy), I created illustrations and emails for this campaign.
2018 emails and following “thank you” page
2019 email and following “thank you” page
“In the fight against hunger, we make a great pear!” 2019
“We go together like peas and carrots.” (no animation) 2019
“Where’ve you bean?” 2018
“You’re are berry special.” 2018
“Lime here to say.” 2018
“Leaf me alone.” 2018
Bonus: #7, “Beet it.”
Rubber Duck Regatta is an event at the annual Cincinnati Riverfest where they release hundreds of thousands of rubber ducks into the Ohio River and “race” to a finish line. Purchasing a $5 duck benefits the Freestore Foodbank, and enters your name for prizes.
After Freestore Foodbank provided the theme and baseline graphics, I worked with strategic consultants Colleen Legge (2018) and Tara Mermis (2019) on creating additional assets for this event: Emails, autoresponders, lightboxes, social media assets, animated GIFs… I even photoshopped a carwrap onto a car.
I don’t have exact numbers, but both the 2018 and 2019 events raised over $1,000,000, each year record-breaking.
Colleen really leaned into the space theme in her copy and concepts. David Bowie duck was very popular at the office.

(click to zoom) We had some rubber ducks in the office that FSFB mailed us in 2018. I had a bit of a photoshoot with the ducks to get the angles I needed for this image.
(click to zoom) I used the duck pictures in this animation as well.

For these emails Freestore Foodbank provided some of their print assets as a jumping-off point; infographics showing the process of their School Pantries and Produce Pop Ups. I created animated GIFs of this process for emails 2 and 3 in the series.
School Pantry version of the GIF. The last frame refers to the CTA button that was directly underneath the animation.
Produce Pop Up version of the GIF. The last frame refers to the CTA button that was directly underneath the animation.
Childhood Hunger Emails; GIFs were midway through the copy of the emails.
